The warden of the Essex County Correctional Facility resigned last month, a day after he was charged with driving under the influence in Middlesex County.
This body cam footage from the Edison Police Department shows Charles Green get pulled over and fail to pass the field sobriety test.
Green alerted the officers to the fact that he was carrying a firearm, and reminded them several times that he was the warden of the Essex County Correctional Facility.
Green was hired in 2015 to run the county jail, on Doremus Avenue in Newark. His salary was $119,985, according to 2018 payroll records.
State pension records show Green collects a $6,377 per month pension after retiring from a prior law enforcement job.
